1. Introduction

petz4days (“we,” “us,” or “the Service”) is a social app for pet owners. You can use it on the web at petz4days.com and in our iOS and Android apps. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and profile

When you create an account we collect:

• Email address and encrypted password
• Username and optional display name, bio, and profile photo
• Pet interests you choose in Preferences (used to personalize Explore and the forum)

2.2 Pets and care records

If you add pets, we store information you provide, including:

• Name, species, photos, notes, and characteristics
• Health updates (weight, growth, general notes, photos)
• Feeding schedules, feeding check-offs, and optional “how it went” notes
• Vet visit dates, reasons, and outcome notes when you mark a visit done

Care records are for your own tracking. They are not a medical or veterinary record and are not shared publicly unless you put similar details in a public post.

2.3 Content you post

• Posts, captions, comments, likes, and forum questions/answers
• Photos you upload
• Videos you upload, which are processed and streamed through Cloudflare Stream
• Direct messages you send to other users
• Reports you submit about posts, users, or pets

2.4 Device and usage

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• Approximate network information (such as IP address) used to operate the Service
• In-app settings stored on your device (for example notification preferences, autoplay, and that day’s care reminder popup)
• On the website, cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences

3. How We Use Your Information

• Create and maintain your account
• Show your feed, Explore suggestions, friends, followed pets, and forum content
• Store pet profiles and health/care checklists
• Deliver photos and videos you post
• Send local or push reminders you enable (feeding, birthdays, and vet visits)
• Process account deletion when you request it in Settings
• Detect abuse, spam, and technical problems
• Improve the product

Explore suggestions use the pet types you marked as interests. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app may schedule reminders on your device for feeding times, pet birthdays, and upcoming vet visits. You can turn all notifications off, or turn off pet events, follow requests, or vet visits, in Settings. Turning notifications off in the app cancels scheduled reminders on that device. Follow requests and similar social alerts are shown in the app; they are not all sent as remote push messages today.

5. Who We Share Information With

5.1 Other users

Your public profile, posts, pet profiles, and forum content are visible to other people using the Service according to how those features work (for example friends, followers, and public Explore). Direct messages are visible to the people in that conversation.

5.2 Service providers

We use vendors to run the Service:

• Authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions
• Video upload, processing, and playback
• Local notifications and app updates on iOS and Android

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security practices.

5.3 Legal and safety

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users or pets, or to investigate abuse. If the Service is sold or merged, data may transfer as part of that transaction.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. In Settings you can delete all account data. That request removes your profile, pets, posts, videos, messages, care records, and login, and cannot be undone. Some information may remain for a short time in backups or where the law requires us to keep it.

7. Your Choices

• Edit your profile, pets, and posts in the app
• Change notification and autoplay settings on your device
• Dismiss in-app notifications or mark care events as done
• Request deletion of your account and data from Settings

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your data. Contact us using the details below to make a request.

8. Children’s Privacy

petz4days is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections, authenticated access, and provider-side controls. No internet service is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password private.

10. International Processing

We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the Service you understand that your information may be stored outside your home country.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
